This is not an idea for your grant but rather an inexpensive and durable way that I assemble my class books. In August when they are on sale @ 4 or 5 for a dollar at Staples I purchase several of the clear plastic 1 or 1/2 inch three ring binders. They come in several colors but you need to get the clear , see through ones. Then I purchase plastic page protectors . I insert the cover page in the first page protector and the student pages get inserted back to back in page protectors that follow the cover page. You end up with a very durable book that is very inexpensive! You can easily see the book cover through the front of the clear notebook. Good luck writing your grant but this may be a good option for others to use! Plus you can reuse them for the next year!

I am hoping all of you great teachers can give me some
ideas/suggestions for a grant that is offered through my county to
teachers who teach in the county.
My grant will be for a book binding system. I want this so my books
will hold up when my kids take our class made books home to share with
their families they won't fall apart after going home with a couple of
the students. Instead I want them to LAST and not have the pages
falling out of the books. Any suggestions for how this will assist my
students with their own writings-how it could improve their writing
abilities?
I hope if you have anything to add, you will share your ideas! I have
some ideas, but I was just thinking I might be overlooking other
things.
