We just finished our rainforest theme a few weeks ago and turned the whole room into a rainforest with the trees and vines. We had:
CD Toucans - the hole in the middle of the cd is the eye, we added foam beaks, and then covered the cd in feathers and hung them from our ceiling.
Yellow Elephants - We took our elephant pictures and painted them with yellow jello, yellow paint and water. If anyone needs the exact measurements let me know and I'll look them up. Yes the rainforest does have yellow elephants and our local zookeeper was very helpful telling my children about them.
Coffeefilter Butterflies - The children colored the coffee filters with watermarkers. Then we sprayed them with water so the colors blended and after they were dried we gathered the middle together with a clothespin, added anttane and hung them from the ceiling.
Furry Monkeys - we put different textures of brown material on our monkeys so they could swing from the vines and trees in our forest.
